We offer different types of lessons based on your students' skills. We recommend shared lessons for most students. We don't want to overwhelm them with 2 hours of non-stop driving. It's great for students who are quick learners, or anxious learners. It allows them an opportunity to rest for 20-30 minutes while the other student drives. They are able to observe and participate during the lesson without the pressure of being behind the wheel for 2 hours straight. They can also coordinate with a friend if they wish. We recommend solo lessons for students who are slow learners or have learning challenges when it comes to driving. We also suggest private lessons if the student is unable to practice at home with family as well as in between lessons.
Yes, students cannot legally drive or practice unless they complete 1 hour or 1 lesson of behind the wheel training with a licensed driving instructor. If the student wants to get their license before the age of 18, they must complete all 6 hours of behind the wheel training. However, if you want to save money or wait until 18 to take the drive test, we recommend taking 1 lesson to validate your permit so you can practice legally in the meantime.
The student will have to retake the written exam again to reissue a new permit but is not required to retake any lessons with an instructor.
You cannot legally drive without a physical permit on you at all times. You will have to go reissue the permit but are not required to take the written exam again. However, they do not have proof you got it on an original date so if you are a minor, they may require you to wait 6 months from your new issued date.
No. For numerous reasons we no longer offer anyone who is not a student to ride along during the lesson. The DMV has this same policy during the exam, and we wish to provide a similar environment.
We charge $50 cancellation fees for cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled appointments. We charge these fees for the instructor's time lost for the day.
The student will need to bring their permit, someone who is licensed at least 25 years old for Minors and 21 for Adults, and a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
No, our services are limited to teaching students how to drive and pass the California DMV behind the wheel exam.
If the instructor feels the weather is unsafe, they may end the lesson early for the safety of the students and will add that time to the next lesson at no additional charge. These weather conditions include rain, flash floods, high winds, road closures, etc.
If the student is not skilled enough to handle dusk to nighttime driving the instructor may take the student home early for the safety of the student.
If at any time the student demonstrates an unwillingness to cooperate with the instructor during the lesson.
We accept Cash, Check, Money Orders, and Credit/Debit Cards. We recommend you pay at the time of the lesson with the instructor unless you are paying by card. You will have to pay by card in the office or over the phone before the day of the appointment. There is a 3% card fee when running the cards. There will be a late charge fee of $5 if payment is not received within 5 days.
